Just use Tab instead, it's much better.

A really great interface but needs some additional capabilities - Needs OCR capability to identify items from a photo of the receipt. - SplitWise has excellent capabilities to split items by percentages or shares. Those need to be added to Plates. - Only allows taxes and tips to be split proportional to subtotal amounts. This option should be available for any item on the bill. MOST IMPORTANTLY, this app needs to be ported to Android!

This app has literally changed my restaurant-dining life. I used to be one of those clumsy, confused souls that sat staring at the receipt while desperately trying to figure out the proportion of tax in addition to tip for everyone WHILE ALSO trying to figure out how to physically pay because everyone has different variations in preference for card, cash, or Venmo. This at least cuts down the math time and that is HUGE to hold people accountable for their totals fast! If only the U.S. factored tax and tip into the price of the food already like some other countries... :( But THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THIS APP! <3

I really like this app. I would make it a full 5 stars only if I were given the option to input the name of each plate first before I drag each item price. If that were to happen, I would not be so confused to say who is who when it becomes more than 5 people to split with.

Updated Review March 2020:This is still the best app for occasional get togethers in which the bill needs to be divided fairly. Splitwise's abandonment of this app is unfortunate but it still works. Perhaps Splitwise can sell it to another developer who sees the value of Plates. UPDATE: Still no update to this great app (May 2016). Fortunately it is still working fine. ----- This is a great app that works quickly and easily. If you have a group of 3 or more people this app assures that everyone pays their fair share (including tax & tip)... Quickly!! I do not understand why Splitwise has given it such short shift in terms of development. I actually like Plates more than Splitwise, because I use Plates more often. Anyway, you can't go wrong with Plates. It's a keeper.

So grateful for this: simple to use and they thought of everything I, anyway, could want in such an app. I haven’t used it for real yet, but I’ve tried out a few scenarios with it, and it works so well. I love too that it figures the tip without tipping the tax.

Love this app, it’s been so useful. But it would be much better if we could name the plates so we don’t get them confused. Also, I would like to add more than 10 plates.

Such a good app. But it’s insane you can’t directly enter the tip amount. People rarely do exactly 18%. And even if you decide to use the app first to determine your tip, and just do exactly 18%, the app doesn’t tell you how much that is! So you have to then calculate it in a separate app. Pretty silly. Also, name plates! Come on

Probably the best app out there for this. But why on earth is there no functionality to name plates?

Love it but would be great if we can include discounts! Thanks
