    I normally use ExpressVPN but wanted to explorer cheaper alternatives. I bought IPVanish after a friend recommended it. Worst move ever! The service is slow, every website flags their servers, and instead reconnecting to your last server it will reconnect to one in your local area. I’m stationed overseas so I need it to shop, pay my bills, and watch my stuff from back home. I have to constantly switch servers in hope that I find one that will work. Anytime I use Google I have to confirm I’m not a bot, my ESPN app flags it all the time, and other websites will do it as well. Save your money and spend it on a bigger well known VPN.

    It think it’s great! To be invisible from all the jag-offs that have nothing better to do then put viruses on people’s computers. They have to be a real despicable person to do something like that!!!

    Sometimes IPVanish app is reliable; the connection is steady and doesn’t unexpectedly drop without notifying you that that has happened. Other times the connection drops unexpectedly and you are not notified this has occurred. This is important because while you are busy on another app and counting on a steady VPN connection , you don’t want to find out that you have been exposed while using public WiFi or other unreliable internet. This app is long overdue for screen notifications that your connection has been disconnected without you intending that to happen. Another problem is sometimes the app misbehaves, starts acting buggy - like it did today - thus requiring deleting the app and re-downloading it. Always a pain when having to do that. Probably happens with this app more than any other except Twitter app. One other thing: check your IP after connecting to be certain that you are connected to a server where the app says that server is. There are multiple decent websites that check your IP as well as DNS leaks. The IPVanish servers aren’t always where the app states that they are. Overall a helpful app when it is stable. Been using for almost 4 years. *** Update: Since writing the above, I reinstalled the app and when I connected it, it began rapidly connecting, disconnecting and reconnecting, changing servers rapidly and then stalled. At that time, I used the Help feature and chatted for a while with a person in tech support. That person suggested that I disconnect for several hours while he messaged the developer. After that discussion, I deleted the app and waited a day to reinstall. After the reinstall, it has functioned well. Contrary to the statement in the developer’s response to this review, I am not a spam reviewer. As stated in my initial review above, I have been using this app for almost 4 years. Since I have been paying for the app subscription all that time, why would I spam review? Also, I am aware that geolocation can vary; that is why I utilise multiple geolocation services. Nonetheless, a number of websites & apps have problems when using this vpn. I get forced to do Google captcha too often. All this slows down my productivity. Note that I am still using the app and paying the subscription! Hardly a spammer. Developers would do better to take note of users’ concerns & endeavour to address those concerns. For example, give the iPhone app a disconnection screen notification so users are made aware!

    I don’t like how I have to disconnect for money related apps, this is the reason I purchased it to feel protected when shopping through my phone.
