Crashes so badly and often that I wanna scream. Would give ZERO stars if I would
  • Great features, Poorly designed UI

After using AI for many years, I decided to switch over to Afifinity and while the tools available are great, getting to use simple features was an extreme hassle. One prime example is the gradient overlay tool for shapes. One of the worst layouts I have ever tried with a completely non-intuitive user control layout. It made logo-design a living nightmare. I highly recommend that Affinity re-assesses how they lay the UI out and how features function because at the moment, I am extremely disappointed.

I like this application it completely replace Adobe illustrator, but the problem it doesn't sppourt RTL you can find a lot of requests on there forum. but they don't care about suppourting it as it's not matter to them !
  • Missing critical features

Affinity Designer is potentially an excellent replacement for pro vector tools that is optimized for the macOS UI. Runs smoothly. That is great. But this cannot be a full replacement. One critical feature that is missing is the ability to trace images, converting a bitmap to vector. Another is the ability to warp paths. Affinity keeps saying on their community forums that these features are on their roadmap... but that was five years ago. Not worth the $50 until more features are implemented.
  • Gets Better and Better

Long time Adobe Illustrator user, I still think of Adobe as the gold standard for illustration programs, but so horrendously overpriced for home use I had to find something else. I bought Affinity Desinger several years ago and have never looked back. By now, with the updates, it is just about as good as I remember Illustrator, although I must admit it takes some time to master because of my familarity with the Illustrator conventions. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with this program and thank Affinity for giving us such a full-featured program at modest cost.
  • Great but needs DXF output.

I could see this being an adobe killer, but really needs more format support. Especially DXF input/output. I still have to go back to Illustrator for that.

I needed a voctor drawing program.. I had an existing PDF, I needed to tweak it. I opened Affinity and got to work immediately, no fuss. I've never used this program before, and it was simple. I got the job done and exported it.. DONE ! :)

Great program. I used it for the first time and felt right at home. Sure, some things are in different places but the UI made sense and I was able to accomplish what I wanted quickly, using my dated knowledge of Illustrator 10 years ago. -- Buy it!

Having migrated from Freehand to Illustrator many years ago, I was dismayed that Illustrator CS5 is not supported in newer versions of the Mac OS. To my great delight, however, I found Affinity Designer, and I absolutely love it. It's feature-rich and easy to learn. I enthusiastically recommend Affinity Designer!

I cannot tell you how nice it feels to be liberated from the absolute misery and incompetencies of adobe illustrator I will soon be unsubscribing from creative cloud, which is a nice thought. This app is clearly leauges better designed and optimized for mac, which i am grateful for—among the slough of other little features I'd always wished illustrator had. Like center justifying text in a frame!!! This costs less than one month of CC and is miles better than what I was paying for and what was bringing me daily agony and rage. Im happy there's a product out there that reflects a bit more respect for creative humans. It does crash now and then and have plenty of glitches, and i would like to see those fixed. but it's not even appropriate to compare the minor glitches with the countless times I lost all my progress in illustrator, or had to use the program at 2fps because of a lack of hyperthreading support. The other feature I am dissapointed not to see is out of the box optical kerning. that is really important for me when it comes to typography and I hope to see that implemented in a more substantive manner than just allowing people to do things manually. soon i'll be moving out of photoshop & indesign as well.
