Description

Experience the magic of GPS audio walks, cycles, drives and even boat rides with VoiceMap tours in over 200 destinations worldwide. They’re like podcasts that move with you, to tell stories about what you’re seeing right now. VoiceMap’s tours are produced by insightful local storytellers, including journalists, filmmakers, novelists, podcasters, and tour guides. Sir Ian McKellen has even created a tour. It's around London's West End, where he has performed for over 50 years. Features: ◆ VoiceMap works offline. After you download a tour, the audio will be available offline along with an offline map. ◆ With GPS autoplay, you can focus on your surroundings, not the screen. Put in your headphones, tap on Start, and let VoiceMap guide you. ◆ If you do wander off in the wrong direction, VoiceMap will play an audio alert, and you can follow the map on your screen to the next location. ◆ With hundreds of free and paid tours, VoiceMap offers huge variety. Reviews and Testimonials: "High-quality self-guided walking tours...Narrated by local experts, they provide insight into corners of the city sometimes overlooked by regular guided tours." Lonely Planet “We may be biased, but could there be anything more helpful than having a journalist in your pocket when touring a new city? How about a historian, a novelist or just a really passionate local? VoiceMap culls city-specific stories from them all and fits them neatly into walking tours.” New York Times “Great value for money, interesting and very clear and easy to follow! I learnt lots about London I didn't already know and I have lived here over 30 years.” Carmella V. London’s Alternative History Tour "I loved the tour, bought all of the New Orleans ones you had and have already recommended it to two people. As an amateur photographer who likes to take his time it was great. I will without a doubt continue to use the app." Jeremy L Faith & Courage: Metairie Cemetery Stories, New Orleans “Loved this! Real eye opener for me as a new resident of Singapore who thought this only an island of foodies and engineers. LOL! Please produce more soon!” Craig DeLarge Artoholic Singapore “I did my first VoiceMap tour and the Chanel tour blew me away. I can only recommend.” Christelle Colman Coco Chanel's Paris "My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this 'talk and walk'. A real eye opener and superbly narrated. This is a first class experience, our first with VoiceMap, and we look forward to using this program frequently in other cities. " Keith F Witches Riots and the Cold War, Berlin ** Just so you know, GPS runs in the background while you're on a tour. This decreases battery life and it's best to start a tour with your device fully charged.

Although quite challenging to start (hint... you must start at the very beginning 🎶), it was well worth the initial frustration. Stick with it. We love walking neighborhoods and, with guidance and stories of what we were seeing, this was the perfect way to do it. Carmel has a number of routes and I’m hoping that tomorrow we’ll do another!

Wish all my favorite people could experience this with me. This offers a chance to get to know one of my favorite cities in a whole new way.

I was born here, I live here, I’m a real deal KC native . And this tour is the real deal. I went to Shawnee Mission East but I moved to KCMO so I could live in a diverse neighborhood. I never looked back nor regretted that decision. We have a long way to go but we can do this. We can embrace the power of positive community and own up to the negative past of red lining and block busting. Thank you for including the racial component to our Kansas City’s history. You hit it spot on.

We loved every moment of this tour. The directions are thorough and clear to follow. The houses are so beautiful and it was great to hear the history and facts of each home. Thank you for this tour, I enjoyed every moment.

What a great way to learn about Carmel! It did take us over an hour but we did shop and enjoy all the sites along the way. Definitely recommend this tour and this app!
  • Richmond Tour where is the history???

I’m sorry but so far this has been the worst audio tour I have ever done. Why did I walk all along here just to hear about how this person I don’t know got locked out of her apartment? We passed so many amazing spots without any mention of their history. Not even a mention of the balboa theater! Massive oversight. Also, these long silences could be largely improved with some music. The Detour app was much better than this. It is waaay to specific to this random girl’s life. We want info on the actual neighborhood. Very disappointed with this. I’m am typing this while the narrator tells some dark story about her aunt and a cult, presumably to add some intrigue to the tour. But it just feels so random and weird and again, has so little to do with learning about the history of this neighborhood since it is so specific to this one person’s experience.

The Lake Geneva route was so awesome to hear the rich history of the area. The $10 price is well worth the value. I would definitely recommend this route and app to anyone!

Worth every bit of $9.99! I did 5 miles and didn’t want to stop because it was so interesting. This audio tour is very well produced and I can’t wait to do another part of the path!
