    This is the 3rd time I've had to enter this wretched thing the 1st time it mysteriously vanished, like so many negative reviews do. The 2nd, the terrible design of this interface threw out my work. So, short version. Bad design. Bad controls. Bad art. Tutorial opens with a short black man in goofy white-face warpaint mocking culture and you have to have your white warrior kill him and take his gold. Like so many other things greed and foolishness has acted as a cancer on a once great institution. Go get a 286 and a floppy drive to play Civ 1.

    It’s basically a poorly translated version of Civ 4, and mechanics are also poorly implemented. I would have rather had a direct port of Civ 4.

    I’ve been playing some version of Civilization for years now. The previous version was very good. Then they did this. They revamped the look, but ruined the game.

    I am a huge fan of the original Civilization Revolution, so I was skeptical about an IOS version. It doesn’t feel as expansive and the controls aren’t as easy for me to use, BUT for switching a game to all touch controls, I think they did a great job. And the no advertisements is a huge bonus over most games for I-pad. Well worth the 5$.

    ...which is still a decent game. But so poorly designed compared to the previous version. Examples: city report shows only one city at a time, and does not show production; units are hard to see and difficult to select; UI elements are constantly getting in the way of terrain you want to tap; attempts to select a different unit often send the previous unit there instead; no end-game ranking; etc etc. It’s as if this were a first crude attempt, and then all the problems were fixed in Cov Rev 1... but bafflingly, they made them in the other order. If the first game still worked on my phone, I would never play this one. But hey, it’s still Civ, and so better than most alternatives.

    Game is fun. Little glitchy here and there. Wish there was away to make the games last longer and be a little more enjoyable. If they could give us the option to make the games last longer, be perfect in my eyes.
