Note: the file must be saved with .png extension (not .apng)

  • Animation plays back choppy (fixed)

I was getting a delay between each frame no matter if I set 0 delay for each frame. As it turns out, you can set the total duration of the animation by highlighting all the frames, entering a value next to Change Selected (use multiple decimal places if necessary) then click Change Selected. After that, look at the top left to see total animation Duration. Keep adjusting decimal value to get the total Duration you need. This, in effect, makes it playback smooth.

Works perfectly! Now I can just wish for dark mode support for the newly released macOS Mojave. :)
  • A ”MUST HAVE TOOL”!

For some reason, Apple’s native Xcode 9.0 doesn’t play the animation if I have more than 6 frames of images in an animation sequence. This app helps me tremedously with making production quality animated stickers for the iMessages, and importing the sequence as a single file into XCode works like a charm! Thank you to the developer as this makes my life a lot easier!
  • Great app, could use some tweaks

Ok, this app isn’t perfect but it’s very usable and a huge time saver for me. I would love to see a delete all button to wipe out all currently added images and maybe a way to batch process multiple folders would be AMAZING. Heck, I would pay for it again for this functionality!!
  • Cuts out frames

I’m not sure why, but when I use this program to create animated PNGs, when I export, it always cuts 7-8 frames off the end. This is sooo annoying. In the preview window, my product looks fine, but then the exported product is missing frames. What gives?

This does exactly what I hoped it would. I wanted an apng creator that would allow me to adjust the duration of each frame, and this one does. Great job!

I like PNG Animator a lot- but could you work the compression type toggle back into this new version?
  • Big step back this release

So, I spent a ton (hours and hours) of time building animations and saving them to the native project file format for this app. This release adds some great functionality, however, I can no longer open my previous projects, even the project file extension has changed. What do I do with all that work? Am I going to have to redue it? I hope this gets fixed (at least an import option for the old format). So at this point, I can’t trust the application if it is to change again, I don’t want to go through all the work of recreating my animations. If this gets fixed I will come back and write a new review with more stars for sure.

I use Affinity Designer + PNG Animator to create animated PNGs for the upcoming iOS10 stickers. This simple software works well and does what I need. Don’t listen to the one star reviewers, this is basic software that works. I assume the bad reviews misunderstood APNGs and where they are supported.
  • Snap Motion+Super Photo Cut+PNG Animator=Awesome!

I really like this app for I prefer to work with PNG photos versus regular photos in stop motion apps to create videos. First off, this app is nothing unless you are using PNG photos which pretty much are photos of a person, item, characater, etc with nothing in the background. Don’t mean to advertise other apps on here, but Snap Motion is what I use to export frames of videos I want use for photos to export and use in Super Photo Cut. SPC is my go to for importing pics anc cropping characters/items to create my PNG pics to export and use in my digital comics as well as PNG Animator. Pretty much this app is easy to use and very handy for me because I export my PNG video to use in Motion for further editing. Great job devs! For those whow are still confused on how to use this app, first get familiar with PNG photos as well as apps that can best work for you to help convert your photos PNG and use in this app.
