Great App! Looks great. Text easy to read. Love ability to add headings in projects. Also like way calendars are interfaced with the “Today” and “Upcoming” views. However, the developer really needs to add PRIORITIES, preferably the Covey inspired A1 style.
  • Finally, a todo app I am sticking with

I have vacillated between various options for years. Things has finally caught me and kept me. It works for me for several reasons: 1) Simple, clean UI. Other apps may have deeper, broader options, but Things doesn’t visually overwhelm me with complexity. When just trying to track my tasks, I don’t want visual noise. 2) Powerful enough but still simple. It has the features I need (mostly... see below) without overwhelming. 3) Automation. Anything I want to do getting tasks in is there. Both integration with Shortcuts and URL schemes is flawless. Literally couldn’t be better. Overall, great app. Love it. A few suggestions: I’ve been happy enough with Things 3 on all of my devices. Visual compactness and minimalism is really nice. Three suggestions that would be extremely helpful. 1) Drag and drop out of the app. (iPad OS). I want to grab a task and drop it into another app such as Fantastical or Drafts. 2) URL scheme for outgoing data. I want to build a script that will query how many tasks I completed yesterday and let me track my productivity in a Scriptable widget graph or in Charty. Things 3 is the one piece that stops that. 3) Smart projects sorted by tags. Essentially like a smart folder, I want a sidebar project that with one tap pulls in every standing task that is tagged “high priority” etc. On the last point, a bit more explanation: - It could live in the same visual space where we have projects and areas. Meaning I would like a way to tag individual todos but then with one click be able to see them in a single place. The closest thing I can get to this right now is generating a search URL by tag (though this also pulls completed tasks). But I’d love to be able to pull up the tag with a single tap. My argument here is that: 1) It is no disturbance or complication to the current UI. When someone taps “new list,” instead of getting “new area” and “new project” they could also get “new smart list.” Then a smart list by tag lives in that same space. The UI is just as clean. 2) The result is exactly the same as it would be right now if you do a quick find and type in that tag. No complicated coding. It actually already exists as is. The difference is that we can get there with only one tap and pick out a few of our commonly used tags to see in that space. 3) It allows users to have a new horizontal or cross-sectional organization of their entire task database. That’s powerful. Really powerful. 4) It exponentially increases the customizability of the app for power users. They could use “high,” “medium” and “low” priority tags and be looking at those lists with a single tap. It’s a big deal.
  • One big thing missing

I am taking off a couple of stars because recurring tasks is such an important thing, it seems like a major oversight. Please add this! One more thing, it would be fantastic if we could add locations to tasks so we can get reminders to do them if we are at that location. Overall I love this app and its sleek look and feel.

Being a busy mom while running three business can be overwhelming but Things 3 allows me to keep it all well organized. I am able to categorize my tasks the way I need and to even add checklists to the task. It is great being able to see a summary of my events for the day at the top so that I don’t forget them when I am scheduling tasks. A few things that would make it the perfect app would be to be able to open and edit an event and to be able to attach pdf, photos or navigation easier.
  • Excellent! Except...

This app is fantastic, and the developers are insightful and effective. The design is beautiful and smooth as well. The only thing that would push this review to 5 stars would be if they added end-to-end encryption to Things Cloud. Their site says they might add it in the future, and I’m really hoping they do! As-is, I can’t use the app on my new iPad. My to-dos and reminders are too personal for me to trust to anything but strong encryption.
  • Very, very worth $20

This app is great. You might think, “gee, how good can a to-do list app be?” Or “Is a to-do app really worth $20?” Well, after searching endlessly for functional, yet accessible life-organizer, this is it. I love this app. Most planners you purchase at a bookstore cost around $20 or more anyway. The amazing thing about this one is that you get all the awesome updates and you only have to purchase it once! Support these awesome developers and get this app! Although I would like to make a request! How about being able to add images into the Notes section of a task? Sounds like a good idea to me!

It’s been a very very long time since I’ve written an app review, but I am compelled to write this one out of love for this piece of software. It quite frankly has been life changing for me in both organizing my life and building good habits. The UI, is inviting, simple and elegant, and it’s foundation of GTD methods has been very effective for me. I initially hesitated about the price tag, but I’ve over time slowly acquired the whole suite (iPhone, iPad and desktop) as I just can’t live without it anymore. Rapidly becoming my favorite app on my phone/iPad. Keep up the good work CulturedCode!

Have always loved this app. However, I’ve always been on the look out for you guys to add the ability to add files, and be way more friendlier when using “Share” on other apps. OF is too clunky, and way too robust for the average human, but having the ability to add files attached to projects. I’m certain you guys are working on this, being that there is so much attention to detail. I truly hope so, because I would like to remain. Other developers are nipping, but catch match the quality, UI, and overall experience. And another wishful request would be to make the Watch app, more usable. Seeing Today is nice, but would love to access a little more. Also adding task from Watch is too limited, without access to put in proper place. Anyways, great app, makes you yearn for even better, especially when lesser apps have maximized in these areas.

I don’t know how I’ve missed this all this time but I’ve never been happier with an app. This is a minimal investment into a tool that accomplishes so much yet is simple to use. Every other app had a different little frustrating thing that didn’t work. Every little gripe I’ve had elsewhere has been solved here.

I have been using Things from the start on my PowerBook. I have continued to use the program with my MacBook Air, iPad and iPhone. It’s easy to use and a great value.
