  • How I miss Alpha Centauri

This is almost like it, but the game is not as robust as Alpha Centauri was. That said, I still enjoy playing it. I would have given it four stars, but with the latest Big Sur release, you can no longer play the game in full screen. Hopefuly there will be an update.
  • Orbital view crashes that go back years from reading

Games great, but it crashes when you get a lot of satelites up and try orbital view. When I was reading on it an interesting post came up. The poster said it happened at turn 1161 on marathon, biggest view map. That is when the problem started happening for me. Was right after turn 1161. I changed resolution and am running radeon pro 580x 8 GB graphics and the system has 16 GB of ram. That comment I read was from 5 years ago with many others complaining of orbital view crashing. By now you should have that bug fixed, so that is why I give the 2 stars. I would 5 star the game otherwise but it breaks at my favorite part and you all have not fixed the break =-( Did not crash once up till this point.
  • Good, everything is good. But the loading screen...

The game is pretty good kinda similar to Command and Conquer but this game’s loading screen takes forever to load, literally.

I personaly perfer Civ 5 altought this is a great game it just needs a little bit more time to grow on you. it is a bit more complicated than other civs but I found myself geting a hold of it very fast. Ps: the atmosphere is a little depresing

Hey you know what would be cool? if this game didn’t crash unexpectidly all the time. It would be cool if the game wasn't consistatly erasing hundreds of moves, dozens oper turn, and hours of progress regularly. that would be cool but thats not the case.
  • A poorly reskinned version of regular civ

This game works well with my 2017 MacBook Pro trackpad, which I was pleased with. My computer just meets the minimum system requirements, and I had no problems running the game. So far I’ve only used the single player mode. I’ve gotten a lot of enjoyable hours of gameplay out of the game, but after a while too many things got on my nerves and I stopped playing. The sound effects are bad. The interface is clunky. The sci-fi story elements are weak. Lots of things about the game seem hastily imagined and constructed.

    Total waste of money!
  • If you played Alpha Centauri, you’ll like this game (but it crashes)

After about 40 hours of gameplay, I have finally decided to write a review. This game plays just like any Civ patform, but it reminds me of how much fun I had playing Alpha Centauri (but this version is FAR more complex). I am absolutely frustrated with the Tech Tree view (non-scalable) IE you cannot get a “big picture” of the entire tree. Also, if you want to save yourself some frustration in gameplay, take your time and study the factions and become familiar with the units, resources, and technologies. All of the other variables (diplomacy, battle mode etc) will be similar to previous Civ engines. I do have to admit, this game has crashed on me several times LATE in the game! I modified my autosave to save after each turn (and I manually save after a significant event). I would have rated this game 4 stars if it wouldn’t crash so often.
  • Game Doesn’t Work, Shows Intro Video & Then Exits

Anyone know how I can ask for my money back? Purchased the game on 9/8 and have went back and forth with Aspyr support via email trying to fix it to get it loaded. Last they said is there was nothing they could do about it and to contact who sold it to me from the APP store. Well I thought I bought it from Apsyr who I’ve been talking to in support. Help! This game doesn’t work, just plays the intro and then aborts. I’m glad some people can play it and it works as it looks to be a neat game but I have the proper hardware and the software just crashes. Good luck to anyone else purchasing because I just flushed some cash.
  • Stick with Civ 5

As everyone else says, this game requires a massive learning experience in order to get the hang of it. Personally I dealt with it, no biggie. Quotes could have been better, I loved how Civ 5 stuck wth actual history. I'm a technology junkie, thats the only reason this game peeked my interest. That and I'm a Civ 5 fan. But this game needs a massive update. No not DLC, but an update. As everyone who plays any Civ knows, this game can easily take you to 400+ turns. But after you get to a certain point the game starts to glitch out. My stopping point was when I couldn’t even go to satellite mode anymore around round 480. Everytime I did, the game crashed, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Get your stuff together and push out a patch to fix this problem or i will never buy another Civ game again.
