  • Love it but has a bug

I love this app so I’m giving it five stars but y’all have an issue with your filters. I’ve removed a news source from the analysis section and it won’t go away. I’ve tried restarting, waiting, turning it on and off... please fix!
  • The only ad-free news aggregator

I’d give this app 5 stars. I pay for it, and like it for the most part. Sometimes in the course of stripping ads, it seems like photos and other content get stripped as well. Otherwise, it’s a great app and finally lets me consume news from multiple sources without paying multiple subscriptions. There aren’t any other news aggregator apps out there without ads that I’m aware of. It would be nice if all content providers were willing to participate (e.g., NY Times, WaPo). I get why they don’t, but ... Fortunately, the Guardian is included.
  • Very good; needs widgets

Excellent app (love the lack of ads) needs more US sources and widgets for iOS 14 - no ads! Hooray

Finally, news and information that feels curated by intelligent humans, or at least algorithms that do intellectual crossfit. If you’d rather experience the world outside the sphere of a lazy robot’s bubble, this app is for you.

I downloaded this app and my first impressions were great, finally a news site that is actually unbiased and easy to use... Theres even a good news section, all of which is incredinly informative. Everything about the app is great, but then I got to the payment options. I've used this app for a good 15 minutes and am blown away at the quality, I'd love to keep using it... But I simply can not afford the subscription right now. It's not possible for me. It appears there is no free version available, and for me, it doesn't matter how good the app is. If I can not have access to the app, I won't even try to get comfortable with it. It was a short stay, but it seems it would only last me a couple days anyways. I wish there was a free version, with ads, for me to continue using this app because I really want to be able to. Without that option, I have no choice but to uninstall. Very unfortunate this gem is being hung up by a subscription fee....
  • Needs Better Filters

**Weak notification filtering will cause me turn off notifications completely.** The resources are good, but it’s filters need a lot of tweaking. For instance, I just received notification of an article with the weekend shooting / death count so far in Chicago (35 shot / 5 dead). I don’t live in Chicago or even close to Illinois. I don’t live in a big urban city. The most likely “connection” via cookies is that I have made posts via Facebook supporting Black Luves Matter. Similar with mass shootings. I have no interest in being notified of such things. However, there is no filter to stop notifications about shootings. I know it won’t (and it shouldn’t) stop the publication and availability of such stories, but if I’m interested, I’ll search for them. Essentially the weak notification filtering will cause me turn off notifications completely.

I like how their is no ads or distractions and I like the way you pay the reporters depending on what people view. I believe in your model so I decide to subscribe for a year. It’s seems pricey but I can understand the price due to lack of ads and in my book that’s worth it. Nice clean news the way it should be. I’m surprised this app isn’t a lot more popular. I like it better than Apple news plus.

I feel like I’ve installed every news app over the years but none stuck until Inkl. You have control over the specific sources it pulls and can reorder the sections. They have a wonderful “good news” section that does exactly as advertised, I place it as the first section seen. Simple interface stays out of the way. Highly suggest doing a trial, it’ll feel like a fair cost afterwards.

I’ll be honest here, I almost didn’t give this app a try bc I simply just can’t afford the $10/month subscription fee, but I’m so so happy I decided to take advantage of the free trial bc this is the news app of my DREAMS. I downloaded it this morning thinking I’d give it a quick browse while I was drinking my coffee and then cancel my free trial. Well, my “quick browse” ended up being an intense 6 hour long immersion. 6 HOURS! I’m blown away by the quality and sheer volume of articles available, and every article I read was so edifying. I cannot recommend this enough: the UI is intuitive and aesthetically satisfying, the categories are simple, accurate, and well organized, the content is credible, unbiased, and factual, and it is somehow the perfect app for every type of reader, from the news junkie to the casual browser. I feel like I’ve learned more in the last 6 hours than I have watching the news every day for the last 6 years. The only - and I mean ONLY- negative for me is the subscription price. I think the price is more than fair, but it’s just not something I can afford after being impacted by covid. To the developers: phenomenal job! Y’all have created something beautiful and I can’t wait until I’m able to support what you’re doing w/a subscription.

I love this news app. So nice to have no ads. So nice to be able to have all this news available to me 24/7 in a myriad of customizable formats. My one gripe would be that I’d love for a trusted media bias rating or (3 ratings maybe... idk) to show up right next to the publication name. And for the rating to be a link so that I can be taken from Inkl to read about the media company profile. Right now, I’m trying to memorize biases. But I still love love love this app. Oh yeah, and hoping Inkl will show up for MacBooks too. :)
